Blackened Wild Caught Shrimp with Lemon

Ingredients

  • 2 Pounds Wild Caught Shrimp, Peeled
  • 2 Tbsp vegetable oil (or any high smoking point oil like sesame or avocado)
  • 1 Tbsp Butter
  • 2 Tbsp blackening seasoning (Ex. Old Bay, Zatarans)
  • 1 Lemon, Halved

Instructions

  1. Thaw and peel shrimp under cold water.
  2. Toss shrimp in a bowl with blackening seasoning.
  3. Heat oil and butter in a skillet over medium-high heat until the oil is shimmering and the butter has slightly browned.
  4. Pour shrimp into the skillet and flip after 1 minute.
  5. Finish cooking for one more minute on the other side, then remove shrimp from heat.
  6. Squeeze lemon over the shrimp and serve.
  7. Serve with grits for a classic shrimp and grits dish, or over pasta with cherry tomatoes.
