Wild Sockeye Salmon Chowder
As winter drags on, I start dreaming of the long summer days in Alaska! Nothing will warm you up more than this Wild Sockeye Salmon chowder. Easy to make and loaded with flavor, this recipe makes for an easy lunch or dinner! Double this recipe and freeze half for an easy meal later when winter won’t let go!
Instructions
Sauté carrots, onion, celery, red bell pepper and carrots until onions are translucent, season with salt and pepper
Add chicken broth and potatoes and bring to a low boil for 15-20 minutes
Add corn, bring back to a simmer
Mix together dill, garlic powder, salt and pepper
Toss salmon in combined seasoning mix
Add salmon to soup and allow to simmer for 3-4 minutes
Turn off heat and add milk or cream (optional)
Garnish with fresh dill and serve with french bread
What about the potatoes?
Paul, we are updating the recipe. You will add the potatoes after the chicken broth. And then let them cook for 20-25 minutes. Thanks for pointing that out!
