Sockeye Salmon Stir Fry
We love all types of stir fry! What better way to enjoy a piece of wild caught salmon than with a quick stir fry. You can use any vegetable you have in your refrigerator, but here is my favorite way to do it!
Instructions
Heat a large skillet or Wok over high heat.
-
Once hot add onion and carrot.
When onion has softened add mushrooms, squash and snap peas. Cook 1 minute.
Add salmon. Cook 1 minute.
Add rice, vinegar, soy sauce and red pepper flake.
Allow bottom side to brown. Toss and allow to brown again.
Remove from heat, and serve in bowls. Garnish with black sesame seeds
Top with a sunny side up fried egg for some extra protein!
What is the best method for thawing the fish prior to cooking? I received sockeye salmon, haddock and crab cakes.
Hi Karen! The best way to thaw any of our fish (salmon, cod, halibut, or tuna) is overnight in the refrigerator. You can also thaw in cold water. Leave the fish in the vacuum seal pouch, place in cold water, and it will take about 30-45 minutes to thaw. In regards to the crab cakes, you cook them from frozen. Pre heat your oven to 350 degrees, and then place the frozen crab cakes on a baking sheet, and bake for 30-35 minutes!
